Cosmetic Acupuncture1

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a totally natural, non-surgical facial that more people are turning to as a viable and highly acclaimed alternative to invasive injections, fillers and chemical treatments. It involves placing tiny, painless acupuncture needles into various points on the face.

Facial acupuncture and light therapy increase the production of healthy proteins such as collagen and elastin, improve circulation and lymphatic flow, and stimulate cell metabolism. When combined, the synergistic effect enhances the benefits of both services. Visible results can be seen after the first treatment. Dramatic and long lasting changes generally occur with a series of sessions. Cosmetic acupuncture leaves you looking and feeling your best. It’s like taking your face to the gym! Specifically, Celluma in conjunction with acupuncture:

  • Improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles

Mei Zen cosmetic Acupuncture/Facial rejuvenation Treatment
This is a 10 treatment protocol. Treatments are scheduled twice a week for 5 weeks. Each treatment takes from 45 to 60 minutes. That’s just a 10 hour commitment to looking younger!
A typical protocol begins with a consultation to determine your overall health and if you qualify for the procedure. We will also discuss your cosmetic and overall health goals. If you qualify for treatment, then a 1 1/2 hour session is scheduled to include a complete evaluation, diagnosis and overall body balancing treatment. We then schedule a course of treatments that run two times per week for five weeks. During this time, herbs and foods will be prescribed that are specifically tailored for your overall health and your stated goals for facial rejuvenation.

What can I expect at a cosmetic acupuncture visit?
On your 1st visit, which is approximately an hour, a history is taken to determine your candidacy for treatment. If you are not a candidate, then the consultation is free and steps are discussed about measures that need to be taken to become a candidate. An examination follows and pre- treatment pictures are taken. Acupuncture is then performed, using very fine facial needles that remain in for 20-30 minutes, depending on your needs. Post treatment skin care is then discussed, along with dietary recommendations. Follow up visits involve an examination, answering any questions you may have, making specific recommendations followed by acupuncture.

How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work?
Cosmetic acupuncture involves the superficial insertion of very fine, single use, needles in the face and body where needed. Local circulation is increased in the face, stimulating collagen production, which will fill in fine lines and firm the skin. The complexion becomes healthy and glowing.
Skin becomes softer and clear, with a noticeable reduction of blemishes
Radiant glowing, younger looking skin,Reduction of wrinkles
Erasing of fine lines and reduction of deeper lines
Reduction of sagginess of the neck, mouth and eyes.
Lifting of droopy eyelids
Clearing or reduction of age spots
An overall rejuvenation that is not confined to your face.
This means you’ll feel better all over and that your health has improved overall!

Success of Cosmetic Acupuncture
How successful is cosmetic acupuncture? A 1996 study published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture showed that of 300 people who received facial acupuncture, 90% saw marked results after one course of treatment, which is 2 sessions a week for 5 weeks.
How long your new look will last depends a lot on your lifestyle, and whether you are willing to address other areas that may need attention such as exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction. But at a fraction of the cost of other procedures, cosmetic acupuncture is a sound alternative that can restore your radiant glow both inside and out.
How long do cosmetic acupuncture results last?
Results, with proper after care, last from 3 to 5 years. Much longer than Botox and many other cosmetic procedures. Investment in your younger looking, beautiful face!

Recommendation is at least two “tune up” treatments per year (1 every 6 months) to help maintain your results and more youthful appearance.
What are the risks involved with cosmetic acupuncture?
Minor and temporary facial and neck bruising are the most common side effect of cosmetic acupuncture, with most bruising disappearing within 2 weeks.
